The Wanda showing is located on the east side of Kitasi Hill, approximately 17.5 kilometres southwest of the community of Klemtu.

The area is underlain by Triassic metasediments and metavolcanics in contact or overlain by basaltic flows of the Lake Island Formation to the northeast and by Permian gneissic diorites to the north and west.

Locally, the quarry is within metavolcanics which host abundant pyrite and subsequent limonite staining. The volcanics are cut by quartz and quartz-calcite veins which range up to 10 metres in width.

A molybdenite showing was first reported on the Molly 1-6 claims in 1973 by a Mr. C.L.M. Giggey. The showing occurs on the claims in the vicinity of an old rock quarry which was excavated during the construction of the Kitasu radio tower. The Wanda claims cover the area around this old quarry site. In 1981, Interstate Energy Corp. purchased the property and completed a program of line cutting and geochemical sampling. A 0.3 metre chip sample taken across a quartz vein along a faulted zone within the quarry assayed less than 0.069 gram per tonne gold, 0.02 gram per tonne silver and less than 0.01 per cent lead and zinc. The molybdenite showing reported was not located (Assessment Report 10275).
